Senator was established in 1985. In a short time it became one of Ireland's foremost PVCu window,
door and conservatory manufacturers. It is the only company
in Ireland that operates nationwide, both north and south and
has a successful network of over 30 franchise dealers all over
Ireland and the UK. Senator entered the millenium with over
150 employees at the head office and fabrication plant in Wexford,
and a further 350 are employed in the franchise dealer network.
Some of our major achievements:
In 1987, we were the first company in Ireland to introduce
safety glass as standard in all our patio doors, long before
legislation insisted that this should happen.
In 1989, we became the first Irish window company to be awarded
Irish Agrement Board Certification for the quality of
our windows.
In 1991, we became the first window company in Ireland to
be awarded ISO 9002 for our quality management system and also that year the Q mark.
In 1992 we became the first window company to introduce K-glass as standard in all windows.
11 years later, in 2003, it has become law as part of the Building Regulations.
In 1998 we became the first window company in the Republic of Ireland to have our
products certified by the British Standards Institute - the
coveted Kite Mark.
In 2001 we were chosen by Pilkington to be the first window company in the world
to introduce Pilkington Activ Self-Cleaning Glass to the market.
